Two elderly colleagues, who do not feel old but still very young in spirit and in membership, are enjoying a work meeting on a kosher sun-drenched terrace. They look back with satisfaction on almost 100 years of combined rabbinical experience, but are nevertheless together deeply concerned about today's anti-Semitism. They both find it incomprehensible and unacceptable that the Nederlands Dagblad, which declares itself to be Christian committed, lets it be proclaimed in bold letters:
"Israel main culprit in conflict due to uncompromising attitude of Zionists".
It is precisely from the ND corner, Christian Netherlands, that both rabbis had expected support in the fight against anti-Semitism and the acceptance that today anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism are synonymous. For Jews are Zionists and Zionists are Jews. So replace the word Zionist with Jew in the opinion piece of 25 July and understand the concern of the two young elderly colleagues.
"Israel main culprit in conflict due to uncompromising attitude of Jews".
The posting of such an opinion piece, breeds anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism, anti-Zionism and anti-Semitism!
