Welcome at the website of the Jewish Community of Maastricht. The website bilingual because of the composition of the Maastricht community and the visitors who often pass by.

Furthermore we reorganized our time schedules: one for the events in the Synagogue and another one for the lighting of candles. We comply with the NIK Loeach forgthe Limburg Shabbat Times (zone V)

The website is mainly filled with calendars of the classes, services and holidays and some current news. People who want to publish some interesting news can deliver their texts at email-address This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Meanwhile we publish the articles of Chief Rabbi B. Jacobs on the website. You can find them under the button Shiurim of the main menu, We also want ask your attention for several actual events which are not shown at the home page but can be accessed under "News" menu button, and also under submenu "Weblinks"under "Library". Recently we added a lot of new photographs on the website and we also opened a Facebook page under the name of Joods Maastricht.

 

In the mean time a newspaper for the members of the community was founded under the leadership of Ernst de Reus. A selectie of these articles of thisnewspaper will also be published  on the website. Most of the articles are written Dutch. We would certainly be upto for translators in English.

Services

We had to take some special measures to help prevent the spread of COVID-19:
  1. No more than 30 people will be admitted to the services and Kiddushim
  2. When entering Shul, your must disinfect your hands.
  3. You must keep a distance of one and half meters and seat themselves on marked seats. Unmarked seats must be kept free.
  4. You may not shake hands with other visitors or kiss the mezzuzot or the books.
  5. We strongly advise that you wear a mask.
  6. Only the Chazzan may sing.
  7. The Ba’al koreh is the only one who may stand on the bimah. The oleh must remain at his place and say the brachot from there.
  8. People who do not feel well must remain at home.
  9. If there is a new contagion or outbreak of COVID-19, the Shul will be closed.
  10. These rules will applied when a new Outbreak will be manifest.
